Romans call it "the typewriter" or "the wedding cake" — and most hate it. But the Vittoriano has the best free panoramic terrace in Rome (take the glass elevator to the top, €12, worth it) and a genuinely moving museum about Italian unification. Love it or hate it architecturally, the view alone justifies the visit.
