Italy is the world's greatest cycling country. Not because of the Tour (that's France) but because of the LANDSCAPE: Tuscan hills with cypress-lined gravel roads (strade bianche). Dolomite passes that make grown cyclists weep. Coastal paths where the Mediterranean is 3 meters to your left for 24km. And the support infrastructure: bike-friendly hotels, mid-ride espresso stops, and mechanics in every town. Rail trails → · Bike rental →
