Olbia Airport to Costa Smeralda (2026)

30 minutes between a budget flight and one of the world's most exclusive coastlines.

Plan your Italy trip →

By car (only real option)

Olbia airport to Porto Cervo: 30 min via SP73. To Baja Sardinia: 25 min. To Porto Rotondo: 15 min. The roads are good, the drive is scenic (granite mountains, Mediterranean scrub, glimpses of turquoise water), and parking exists at all main towns.

Without a car

Taxi/NCC: €50-70 to Porto Cervo. €40-50 to Porto Rotondo. Pre-book through your hotel or NCC services online.

Bus: ARST runs limited summer routes from Olbia to Arzachena (the town behind Costa Smeralda), then local connections. Infrequent, slow, not practical for beach-hopping.

Hotel shuttle: Most luxury hotels on the Costa Smeralda offer airport transfers — often included in the rate or €50-80. Ask when booking.

The irony

You might fly Ryanair for €40 and then spend €2,000/night at Cala di Volpe. The Costa Smeralda's budget-airline access is its best-kept contradiction. The €30 Ryanair crowd and the €500/dinner crowd land at the same tiny airport 4km apart.

💡 Budget Costa Smeralda: Stay in Olbia or Cannigione (10 min from the coast, €60-80/night) instead of Porto Cervo (€300-1000/night). Drive to the same beaches — they're public. The water doesn't know what you paid for your hotel.
